Mazzacles is the newest edition to the Club 77 roster, her steady rise in the Eora / Sydney club circuit is no doubt due to her sophisticated taste and ability to dig deep for hidden obscurities and forgotten gems. Her style ranges from classic house, funk and disco to the darker, dubber side of electronica. A fan of music from every corner of the world, she’s comfortable dipping in and out of various sounds from balearic chill out and 80’s obscurities. Recent career highlights include playing for renowned Eora / Sydney collective Planet Trip, Bizarro and the prestigious Mode Festival as well as an all wax set at Club 77.
Mazzacles’ love of old school sounds and dedication to her craft shines through in her mixes with nods to her early musical influences.
"I'd always loved electronic music - my dad pretty much raised me on Kraftwerk and one of my earliest musical memories was him playing Laurie Anderson's "O Superman" on repeat. Around the same time I was old enough to go out clubbing I also started paying more attention to the BBC radio 1 mix series... I will never forget stumbling upon one from "Mixtress" who is a UK based jungle/hardcore dj. At the time I thought it was the best thing ever - listened to it over and over again. I slowly became more and more intrigued, seeking out more mixes to listen to and youtube videos to watch, trying to find new venues and parties in Sydney that were playing music utterly different to the more commercial electronic stuff I'd initially been exposed to fresh out of highschool. By 19 I was completely and utterly obsessed, spent hours in my room grappling with my cheap controller until I could scrape together an opening set to play at smaller gigs and bars."
Outside of the booth, Mazzacles is heavily involved in the local music scene, hosting regularly on FBi Radio, producing on Simon Cadwall’s sunset show and most recently interviewing her idol Jeff Mills.
"Working on my music journalism skills is a big one for me. A personal dream is to write academically and/or critically about music, and so I'm super keen to take the steps to get better at that. I'm also into documenting and researching the history of the Sydney scene, so got lots of archival research to do."

What’s your favourite memory from Club 77?
One of my most treasured memories from Sevs was seeing Soichi Terada live (who gifted me his little chatterbox that he uses as a prop throughout his set). Every single time Barney and Simon play together it's also a treat - especially when it inevitably descends into filthy ghetto tech around 2/3 am. I did spend my 20th birthday watching those two play till 4 am and I'll never forget that.
What does this year look like musically for you?
This year I want to get really really competent at playing records - dedicate as much time and energy as possible to it as I can. I would like to play a few festivals - got some exciting ones coming up, and perhaps gig outside of Sydney a bit more!
3 of your fave tracks you always pack for gigs at club 77?
I will never not play "My Joy" by Quentin Harris. I'm convinced this is one of the greatest house songs of all time. Kenny Larkin's "Cirque de Soul" is also a repeat offender, and oddly enough, a track I will always pack but rarely play is Rolando's "Knights of the Jaguar". I've only played it twice at 77, because it's a super special one, but I should play it more. I'd play it for the entirety of my 4 hour sets if I could.
Something people might not know about you?
I love John Mayer.
