Slow burners, big feelings, and a little bit of weird — five top selects from Harry Court.
Sydney-based DJ Harry Court shares five tracks that drift between chuggy grooves, Balearic moods, and nostalgic oddities. Thoughtful, low-slung, and full of feeling — a selection made for heads-down moments and quiet dancefloor magic.
La Main Jaune — Golden Bug and In Fields
A great, meditative track on its own, but also a wonderful DJ tool. It has this pendulum-like quality and repetitive pad that can switch up a mood and create a lot of tension for whatever you’re playing with it.
Slipshod — Al Usher
A new (to me) favourite that’s just really cool and interesting. Simultaneously cheesy and sophisticated.
Last Night At The Hop — Nic Jalusi
Great 90s vibe and works at a wide range of tempos. I like bringing it in over a quiet breakdown as a reset of sorts.
Tune In — Altz
Unique vibe with a really weird breakdown and growly bass. For me, it has a nostalgic quality because the string instrument (I think it’s a Nyckelharpa?) reminds me of Grizzly Hills music from World of Warcraft, and is so cool in a dance track. Takes me back to my younger RPG-obsessed era.
Imperial Rockets (Stereogamous & Andy Rantzen Mix) — Itch-E & Scratch-E
In my early days of getting properly into electronic music, I came across this while at work and it sent me peaking at my desk. It’s so big! And it gets bigger and bigger. I’ve never played it in a set because it’s just so big to me. Anyway, wow!
