A mainstay of the Eora circuit, Reenie has been carving her own path with an ear for eccentric oddities and an undeniable groove. A background in classical percussion and drummer for Good Pash, she has a sharp ear for rhythm and impressive technical ability behind the decks. With undeniable love and energy for the community, you’ll find her around town hosting Motorik Sunset on FBi Radio, slinging wax at The Record Store or front row at a gig, always the friendliest face on the dance floor.
Barney Kato, an active presence in the world of dance music for over 23 years, merges the magic of collective harmony and music, regularly captivating Eora with his dynamic DJ sets and popular events like Alien and Breakbeat Chaos. As a globetrotter, an aficionado of futurist dance music, and a collector of experiences, he sees the DJ booth as an epicenter of energy manipulation, mixing classic and cutting-edge elements to move dancefloors of all sizes, reshaping experiences beyond familiar anthems. Barney curates nights, trains budding talents, and has made significant contributions to Newcastle and Sydney's electronic music scene since 2000, which include running parties, working in record stores, managing a record label, and hosting Fbi Radio Thursday Sunset for 15 years. Barney's DJ career highlights include spinning records at Australia's most iconic parties and festivals like Big Day Out, Splendour In The Grass, and more recently a set for Boiler at legendary Sydney venue, Hordern Pavilion.
A local icon and staple at some of the best parties and clubs for over a decade. Mike Who is a versatile selector, his eclectic palette allows him to take dance floors in any direction, be it slow-burning reggae, street soul, hip hop and tropical melters all the way through to obscure boogie, disco and the soulful side of house music. His knack for breathing life into dollar-bin finds is apparent in his arsenal of impossible to ID tracks. Label head of respected Eora imprint, Planet Trip Records, a platform for sounds from people who “love weird shit”. From previously running nights at the beloved Good God Club to hosting FBi Sunset and programming various parties across the city, Mike is always creating opportunities for emerging DJs and continually contributing to the scene.
Deepa is a force to be reckoned with, a mastermind behind many renowned Eora parties, community radio sweetheart and hugely versatile DJ. Her friendly tones recognisable from FBi Radio’s Saturday Sunset, focusing on thoughtful, textured left-field dance music spotlighting emerging Australian artists as well as her show Bypass on Naarm’s Skylab Radio highlighting South Asian diaspora. Known for her infectious energy and oddball selections stretching across rose-tinted Indopop, cheeky breaks and dark hypnotic drums. Her work as one half of the jazzy duo Honeypoint will go down in Eora’s history as some of the sweetest parties, from prom themed warehouse raves to jazz infused brunch and a debut Boiler Room performance. Deepa is also part of Australian, South Asian collective Kerfew, celebrating culture and connection. Catch her weaving her magic across Eora’s favourite clubs and festivals with appearances at iconic festivals Subsonic and Strawberry Fields over the summer.
Carving a name for herself in the Eora grassroots scene, Ciara's [‘Sha-rah’] sets are vibrant and unpredictable. Peaking and pivoting through techy, breaksy, & bassy places, underscored by a distinctly flirty energy. A club-circuit regular, each track is affectionately selected to keep you moving. With mixes under her belt for Body Promise on FBi radio, a regular slot on Nomad Radio and appearances on lineups alongside DJ Plead and Moopie she’s one to keep your eye on.
Producer, DJ and club chameleon, Jhassic finds the common ground between chunky Chicago house and rap, all while weaving traditional South Asian instrumentation into his sets. An eclectic sound infused with familiar beats, historical documents and loads of energy. Jhassic uses layers, chopped in vocals and drums to tell stories and build energy in the room, always nailing the vibe.
Australian fixture and scene icon, Phil Smart has been spinning forward thinking electronic music in clubs, bars, warehouses, fields, deserts and carparks since the rave era. A veteran DJ and master of the long-form set, celebrating 30 Years in the game with an all night long warehouse party hosted by Motorik and recently 10 hour set at Club 77. The many years of honing his craft is evident in his ability to connect with the dance floor and hold the energy for hours on end. His impressive repertoire includes releasing music on Motorik, Junkbeats, Thunk and Future Classic and was voted Australian DJ of the Year at the National Dance Music Awards in 2000. His sound ranges greatly from deep house, techouse, minimal and warm techno, head music and eclectic bar room beats. Curator of Club 77’s Tempo Comodo a ‘Slow Dance Experiment’ concept exploring slower tempos which open up a whole new world of space, rhythm and movement.
The newest addition to the Club 77 roster, Mazzacles has been making a name for herself in Eora, hosting regularly on FBi Radio and producing for Simon Caldwell’s sunset show. Her style ranges from classic house, funk, and disco, to the darker and dubbier side of electronica. A fan of music from every corner of the world, she’s comfortable dipping in and out of various sounds from balearic chill out and 80’s obscurities. Recent highlights include playing for renowned Sydney collective Planet Trip, Bizarro and the prestigious Mode Festival.
