Roles and Responsibilities
We are seeking a passionate, customer experience-focused Duty Manager with a strong background in managing and supervising high-volume nightclubs and/or bars. In addition to being customer-focused, you will need a solid background in compliance and experience dealing with governing bodies. A thorough understanding of nightclub and/or bar operations is essential, with an interest in electronic music being a plus. You must have the drive and desire to help build a multifaceted business, coupled with a positive, can-do attitude.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail and collaboration directly with Club 77’s directors and management team. You will be expected to:
Lead in the execution of an outstanding customer experience:
• Guide the team in delivering exceptional customer service, bar service, and operations, including responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and WHS practices.
• Set high standards for customer engagement and interaction.
• Liaise with customers, staff, governing bodies, and members of the public in a professional, respectful, and friendly manner.
• Identify and implement enhancements and efficiencies to improve the customer experience.
• Promote equality, inclusivity, and diversity.
Manage the operations of the venue:
• Oversee the operation of the venue, ensuring it runs at a high level of compliance and consistently promotes licensing objectives.
• Complete the digital incident register AusComply on a nightly basis.
• Lead and manage a small but passionate team of hospitality professionals and creatives.
• Supervise the security team, providing training and guidance as needed.
• Handle cash management, reconciliation, and end-of-night reporting.
• Take responsibility for the venue’s opening and closing procedures.
Personal and Professional Qualifications:
• Valid New South Wales Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience leading a team in a high-volume nightclub and/or bar environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Ability and motivation to work late nights (up to 4 am close).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Sound knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
• Strong numeracy and cash handling skills.
• Completion of the New South Wales licensee training course or willingness to complete it (desirable).
