We are looking for a passionate, customer experience-focused Duty Manager to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a passionate, customer experience-focused Duty Manager with a strong background in managing and supervising high volume nightclubs and or bars. On top of being a customer focused role, you will have a strong background in compliance and be highly experienced and confident in dealing with governing bodies. 

A solid understanding of nightclub and or bar operations is a must, with an interest in electronic music a plus. You must possess the drive and desire to help build a multifaceted business coupled with a happy-go-lucky attitude. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, collaborating directly with Club 77's director and its management team. 

Expectations:

Lead in the execution of an outstanding customer experience

  • Manage, train and develop bartenders, barbacks, hosts and security guards in providing an outstanding customer experience, bar service and operations, responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and work health safety (WHS) practices 
  • Be able to liaise with patrons, staff and members of the public in a professional, respectful and friendly manner 
  • Set high standards for customer engagement and interaction
  • Identify enhancements and efficiencies to improve the customer experience
  • Promote equality, inclusivity and diversity

Manage the operations of the venue 

  • Assist the Venue Manager in managing the operations of the venue 
  • Assist the Venue Manager in managing the opening and closing procedures of the venue 
  • Manage cash handling, EFTPOS and point-of-sale reconciliation
  • Manage and maintain the efficiency and accuracy of the point-of-sale system 
  • Manage wage control and labour, delivering on or below forecasted budget 
  • Provide detailed end of shift reports on the operation of the venue, staffing and ways to improve performance 
  • Ensure the venue is clean and that correct hygiene practices are being adhered to
  • Oversee the order of the cool room, spirit room and post-mix room ensuring all stock is stored correctly and is neat and tidy
  • Lead and manage a small, but passionate team of bartenders, barbacks, hosts and security guards

Manage licensing and compliance 

  • Ensure the venue operates to a high level of compliance, always promoting the licensing objectives of the venue 
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol (RSA) guidelines are met and adhered to 
  • Have a thorough understanding of the conditions outlined in our development application (DA) and liquor license 
  • Manage and log incidents in the digital incident register AusComply
  • Liaise directly with governing bodies, providing compliance documentation as requested and or required

Personal and Professional Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience of leading a team in a high-volume nightclub and or bar environment 
  • Valid New South Wales responsible service of alcohol certificate
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, customer facing environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A sound knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
  • Numeracy and cash handling skills
  • Completed the New South Wales licensee training course or have the willingness and desire to do so (desirable)

Renumeration:

  • Attractive hourly rate 
  • 11.5% superannuation 
  • Salary review after six months
