What's On: Tempo Comodo September 2023 Lineups Revealed

Tempo Comodo presents downtempo chuggers, slow movers and groovers every Thursday. This September is packed full of seasoned veterans, fresh faces and interstate guests.

Tempo Comodo explores the slower realms of danceable beats. From 70bpm downtempo to midtempo chug, anything under 120bpm is fair game as long as it's made for dancing! Getting down to slower tempos opens up a whole new world of space, rhythm and movement. Come and join the slow dance revolution as we venture deep into a diverse musical universe of varied subgenres, influences and styles. Expect slo-haus, post-nudisco, chillrave, chuggy low-slung grooves, and any slo-mo superlative you can throw into the mix.

Thursday 7th September

Gemma, Maggie Tra & Lucy

Gemma has been pioneering genre bending, forward thinking music for dancefloors since the 80s and is well known as part of Club Kooky, the Sunday night queer community dance that started at 77 in 1995. Maggie Tra, a relative newcomer to the Eora / Sydney scene and a regular at 77, draws on multiple cultural threads to create something new and exciting. Lucy, host of A Love Letter To Music on Bondi FM, is known around town for her progressive sounds. She’ll be bringing a different flavour to close out the night.

Tempo Comodo #72 is doing things a little different this week, starting off with an hour-long ambient set from Phil Smart in his Be Hear Now mode. After that, back to regular Tempo Comodo vibes with the best in downtempo and midtempo treats, with Francis Xavier from Motorik and TC regular Pink Language.
