Tempo Comodo #65 Black Bear Lodge Takeover w/ Aidan Beiers, Mumgenes & Deejay Hotline
6:00pm - 4:00am | Free Entry all Night
Tempo Comodo #65 is a Black Bear Lodge Takeover w/ Aidan Beiers, Mumgenes & Deejay Hotline. Black Bear Lodge is the venue in Brisbane where the story of Tempo Comodo began life as the Slow Dance Experiment back in 2019, with this crew of Lodge regulars representing the diverse and wonderful downtempo sounds of Brisvegas.
Evolved from Phil Smart’s innovative and well received ‘Slow Dance Experiment’ concept, Tempo Comodo is a new party series further exploring the slower realms of danceable beats. From 70bpm downtempo to midtempo chug, anything under 120bpm is fair game as long as it's made for dancing! Getting down to slower tempos opens up a whole new world of space, rhythm and movement. Come and join the slow dance revolution as we venture deep into a diverse musical universe of varied subgenres, influences and styles. Expect slo-haus, post-nudisco, chillrave, chuggy low-slung grooves, and any slo-mo superlative you can throw into the mix.
Aidan Beiers, the owner and curator of Brisbane's Fortitude Valley live music venue and nightclub, Black Bear Lodge, has been running the establishment for the past eight years. With Vietnamese heritage and a Meanjin/Brisbane upbringing, Aidan's Balearic DJ sets are a treat for the senses, like a vermicelli salad, best served in a hot climate among lovely people, some of whom may be on drugs.
Originating from a desire to divulge an unceasingly growing and exceptionally diverse vinyl library, Mumgenes has consistently graced the dance floors of Brisbane as a regular musical guide for more than three years. Mining through repositories of disco, soul, funk, deep house, and electronic melodies, Mumgenes skillfully intertwines a narrative within tunes, revealing a tale through rhythm and sound. Having backed artists such as Floating Points, Theo Parrish, Marcellus Pittman, and Jad & The, Mumgenes is preparing to take her passion and music appreciation to an even broader spectrum in the days to come.
