Sunday 6 August

Sundays at 77 w/ Vegyn, ealing (live), E3P, Ciara & DJ Paramat

6:00pm - 4:00am | Free entry entry all night

Vegyn:

Joe Thornalley, known by the moniker Vegyn, is a London-based producer whose unconventional style of beatmaking has attracted attention from club audiences as well as rappers. His restrained yet intricately detailed productions are both playful and mysterious, avoiding the clichéd hallmarks of most dance music and not quite fitting in with hip-hop trends, either. Issuing solo material through his own PLZ Make It Ruins label since 2014, he came to the public’s attention through his production work on Frank Ocean’s 2016 albums Blond and Endless. The producer demonstrated his vast range on two lengthy mixtapes, 2019’s Text While Driving If You Want to Meet God! And 2022’s Don’t Follow Me Because I’m Lost Too!! He founded a London-based club night called GÆZ and frequented another one called Tropical Waste, sharing the decks with artists like Airhead, M.E.S.H., and EndgamE.

ealing:

Formerly from Meanjin/Brisbane and now residing in Eora/Sydney, ealing is a producer and DJ making and mixing music on their own terms. Influenced by deep explorations of music subcultures found on the internet, ealing’s productions are and example of what club music could sound like 20 years from now.

E3P:

A self-proclaimed ‘warehouse rat,’ Sim is no stranger to curation, materialising her vision with installations, and actualising low-grade euphoria with sounds. Her genres of choice range anywhere from ambient, UK garage and gabber. Already an aficionado of Sydney’s underground electronic music scene, Sim is ready to shimmy her way from the front of the dancefloor to behind the decks.

Ciara:

Carving a name for herself in the local grassroots nu-rave scene, Ciara has become a regular in Sydney’s dance circuit. Sourcing inspiration from years of parties past, Ciara floats playfully between breakbeat, house, techno and UKG.

DJ Paramat:

DJ Paramat’s curations range from ambient, dub and downtempo to obscure club & bass. He consistently endeavours to offer a new flavour, and share a new pocket of musical knowledge with each set. You may find him fill-in presenting on community FM radio station FBi, or offering a wider range of sounds on his monthly Nomad Radio show ‘All Purpose’. He is also the co-founder of events & netlabel General Merchant, promoting local music makers and hosting forward-thinking dance events across Eora.
